Online companion

This savvygrid.com site is the online companion for the book that includes the errata, community portal, and new material complementary to the printed edition, ensuring that the reader is kept up to date. When working on the book, we decided to maintain the book’s online companion for at least three reasons:

  • Firstly, the topic is very new. We acknowledge that there may be errors in the printed material, although we took care to minimize such errors with great help from our reviewers. The errata, if any, will appear online.
  • Secondly, Grid technology is rapidly evolving and new business offerings reach the market every month. In the online companion we will keep track of the state of the market after this book was printed.
  • Thirdly, there are many points of view on Grid computing and some sections of this book will inevitably raise strong feelings of those with different understanding of the subject. They can voice their opinions here and discuss them with others.

How is this online companion structured?

  • In the Authors section you will find a few words about us.
  • Reviews section contains, you guessed it, reviews of the book, and if you send us one, we will happily post it there.
  • Toc contains the Table Of Contents
  • Take a look at the Look Inside where you can read some fragments of the book’s original text.
  • Online reference contains links to the online materials we consulted while writing the book.
  • The Discuss section has a structure that reflects the order of particular chapters; thus you can either voice your opinion in the general discussion, or discuss the book by chapter.
